We are currently seeking an enthusiastic sales support person to join our skilled team. The role is collaborative and there is a good opportunity for progression within the company. 

General workshop responsibilities:

• To contribute to maintaining a clean and efficient workshop.

• To have the flexibility to sometimes vary working hours to suit production needs.

• To understand and adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policy including when the use of PPE is compulsory. To alert the Manufacturing Manager of anything that you feel could affect H&S.

• To show good time keeping.

• To have a reliable attitude towards wrapping, loading / unloading and assisting in the spray department.

• To act as an Ambassador of the company when on site and/or client facing.


Making requirements:

a. To have the ability to use all the functions of the main workshop machinery in a safe and accurate manner (including panel saw, resaw, 4-cutter, edge bander, edge sander, veneer saw, veneer jointer, veneer press, hand router, biscuit jointer, speed sander & wall saw).

b. To be competent and consistent at lipping.

c. To be competent with basic veneering techniques including the use of all the veneering machines, but excluding veneer allocation.

d. To understand assembly techniques using ‘Hafele’ components (runners, hinges) and to be able to demonstrate this with accuracy and speed.

e. To be able to glue-up, assemble and ‘arris’ a standard credenza unit to a high standard that is ready for the spray department.

f. To assist with site deliveries and the installation of furniture items.

g. To understand the quality of the work that is expected of you and to inform your Team Leader of anything that concerns you.

h. To be responsible for the quality of your work at all times and to promptly inform your Team Leader of anything that you are concerned about.

i. To make sure that you understand the making task given to you by you Team Leader and have a clear understanding of how long it is going to take.

j. To be competent with all assembly and gluing procedures.

k. To have the ability to see all the steps to completing an average piece without unnecessary stages and to a high standard.

l. To be competent in the veneering area, including a general understanding of veneer allocation and making veneer plans.

m. Experienced with all normal site fitting & installation techniques as part of a team but in an independent fashion.

n. Experience of more advanced solid wood construction and selection including the use of the spindle moulder.
