Recrafting™ - Reimagine

Transform existing furniture into entirely new pieces

We work with design teams to explore the many options that existing furniture has when it comes to reuse. One of these is reimagining it. By completely reconfiguring existing pieces they can become part of the continued story of a space.

Project case study - L&G Circular dining table

The Story - Opus Magnum were tasked with transforming a Torus table we originally made in 2007 into a dining room table to meet the client’s updated needs. This new piece honors the old while taking on a new life. Both table top and drum base were beautifully reimagined from the original boardroom table tops.

  • Incorporating existing, perceived end of life materials, into new furniture is a more sustainable design approach. Existing materials can utilised from the client’s existing furniture, sourced from 3rd parties or even produced as off-cuts from our workshop.

  • By refinishing and/or resurfacing existing furniture we can extend its life. A restore project can involve a surface refinish such as reveneering or respraying to restore them after continued use and wear. It can also involve upgrading and modernizing integrated power requirements.

We are open to working with furniture that was not originally made by us.
